Our History
Commissioned began to develop in the heart of Pastor Kevin of Calvary Chapel in Clayton, NC in 2015 while on a missions trip to Colombia. "As a Pastor I'm as concerned about how missions cause spiritual growth within my congregation as I am about reaching the lost. The more our congregation grows in maturity the more we reach those who need to hear the message and experience the love of Jesus.”

During this trip he began to have a desire to use missions and outreach as a way to mature his whole congregation. In the fall of 2015 he started a missions ministry. Almost 50% of the congregation became involved. Assistant Pastor Jeffrey began to lead members of the congregation to Atlanta to participate in inner-city outreach which has become a training ground for members of the church. It was in Atlanta that 20 to 30 members at a time would be snatched out of their comfort zone, and forced into amazing opportunities to minister to heroin addicts on the streets. Pastor Kevin began to conduct evangelism training as well. Now the church has a ministry devoted to evangelizing downtown Clayton every month.
During the 2016 missions trip to Colombia Pastor Kevin began to see how God was using our missions ministry to not only reach the lost but to come along side other congregations encouraging and assisting them to reach the lost in their own community. Again through prayer he felt the need to further organize the churches missions effort, and to share what was happening with other pastors. To do this he was led to host a missions conference. In January of 2017 Calvary Chapel of Clayton hosted "The Promise Missions Conference". It was a special time of prayer, worship and fellowship. CC Winston-Salem joined and were blessed.
2017 and 2018 were amazing years of outreach in Clayton, Atlanta, Colombia and more! Calvary Chapels of Winston Salem and Wilmington as well as a few members from Raleigh and Cary joined us on our Atlanta trips. Now as we are planning our annual Missions Conference we are excited about all that God is doing and look forward to growing in fellowship with other like-minded congregations as we grow in our walk together while reaching the lost for Jesus.
"We are COMMISSIONED".
